TED JANEWAY ATLANTIC FLEET REGATTA REPORT
By Kerry Dawson
Five CPYC skippers crossed the Sound on Saturday for the annual Ted Janeway Regatta hosted by the Cold Spring Harbor Beach Club (CSHBC) Atlantic Fleet. After a swift crossing the CPYC Boats met up with 5 CSHBC and 2 Niantic Bay entries off Lloyd's Neck. The Mid-Sound seas were overwhelming so the RC wisely chose to move the racing venue into Oyster Bay. At the end of a very exciting day of racing, marked by a lot of busted gear, CPYC's John Foster in A140 stood tied with the defending champion, Niantic Bay's Norm Peck 3rd. After a wonderful dinner in Cold Spring, the fleet went out for the final race on Sunday. John Foster held off Norm 3 until the final leeward mark. Norm won the tie breaker .
