Blue Hill, Maine, is named after the wild blueberries growing in profusion on the flanks of the eponymous mound that overlooks the town--and the lovely protected bay that provides great racing, with flat seas and consistently good breezes. Atlantics have sailed at Kollegewidgwok YC for more than 80 years, and the club currently has the largest existing fleet with 21 boats. Summer residents race their boats in a limited season from July to August. The fleet has a long history of family sailing, and has produced many fine women skippers over the years as well as three national champions in the past six years.
