Ten boats competed in the final event of the year, the Ted Janeway Memorial Regatta at Cold Spring Harbor Beach Club, September 24-25. Conditions were Long Island Sound in its most challenging mood, with the light wind shifting hugely in direction, seemingly at random, and a lumpy sea. The only skipper who seemed to understand what was happening and deal with it well was Scott Reichhelm in A142 Shucks. With his crew of Paula Olson, Patrick Wyllie and Rob Fowler, he scored a very consistent 1,3,1 to dominate the series. Second was Charlie Langalis in A2 Bruté, third Guy Gurney in A16 Savvy.
